Through knowledge and experience, Century Wind (CWE) has redesigned and slimmed its Wind
Turbine product line down to include only practical wind
turbine models that will benefit our customers.
CWE Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines are available in four
sizes. The 2, 5, and 10kW (Kilowatt) units are primarily
used for reducing utility bills and a 20kW (Kilowatt)
primarily used for off-grid (No Utility Company) and Commercial
applications. All three Wind Turbine models have been
installed in hundreds of sites around the world and are
market leaders in performance and reliability.
All CWE Horizontal Wind Turbine
features:
- The Wind Turbine controller includes
a dump load rated for twice the kw capacity and uses
the latest technology (PWM) Pulse Width Modulation.
- The Wind Turbine's generator uses Neodymium
(iron-boron) permanent magnets.
- The Wind Turbine's generator incorporates
slip-ring technology with replaceable 15-20-year life
brushes, eliminating the problem of cable twisting.
- All Wind Turbine Units have 3-braking
systems. Plus additional manual brake on 10kw &
20kw Wind Turbine units
- Our Wind Turbine Blades
are special reinforced fiber glass with dense fill of
poly-urethane and are designed for low noise.
- All parts are electrostatic powder
coated and hardware is stainless steel.
The Competition's Wind Turbines:
- Servos that can fail due to high torque
imposed on them, trying to furl in high winds.
- Use dog-vane and anemometers that are
inexpensive (plastic) and can cause Failure.
- Controller circuit boards are non-adjustable
and are prone to Failure.
- Only one braking system (dump load).
Should it fail the blades would over spin causing complete
destruction of the unit.
- A one size Wind Turbine fit's all design,
inefficient for smaller renewable energy systems, inadequate
and not robust enough for Commercial applications.

The Century Wind 5kW is the perfect choice to supplement
your current On Grid or Solar Energy application.
With a rotor diameter of 4.99meters (16.4ft) and a peak
output of approximately 6000 watts the CWE 5kW Wind Turbine
is intended for the residential home market and is also
a perfect companion for current owners of solar energy-only
off-grid systems. |
